Mississauga & the GTA
Business backup and recovery in Mississauga and the GTA
ExcelyTech is based at 3900 Confederation Pkwy in Mississauga, Ontario. We help small and medium-sized businesses protect important systems and plan how to bring them back after an outage.
Most businesses we talk to already have some kind of backup. The harder question is what happens on the day something fails: which systems come back first, who restores them, and how long that realistically takes. We start from that question, then build the protection around it.
Who this is for
The service fits businesses that run their own servers or virtual machines on site. A typical example is an office with a file server, an accounting or line-of-business application, and a few virtual machines on a hypervisor. If your important data lives mostly in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, see our SaaS backup service instead.
What we set up
We provide on-premises backup and restore for physical and virtual systems, planned around your workloads and the service scope we agree with you. We partner with Arcserve, and the supporting software sits underneath the service. You deal with our team, not with a product console and a support queue.
The details of coverage, backup frequency, retention and restore responsibilities are written into your service agreement, so you know what is protected and what is not. Our Backup & Restore page describes the service in more depth.
Recovery, not only backup
A backup that finished successfully has not proved that a restore will work. We include recovery planning in the conversation from the start: which systems matter most, what order they come back in, and what needs to be checked before anyone calls the job done. If you want background first, these guides cover the basics:
- Backup vs recovery: what is the difference?
- RTO and RPO explained for business
- Why SaaS data needs its own backup
For critical workloads that need a recovery environment, see disaster recovery (DRaaS), and our recovery readiness page explains how we assess what you have today.
Questions worth bringing to a first conversation
- Which systems would stop the business if they were down for a day?
- Where do your backup copies live, and could one incident reach all of them?
- When was the last time someone restored a real system from backup?
- Who does the restore, and do they have what they need to start?
- How much recent work could you afford to re-enter after an incident?
You do not need answers to all of these. They are a good place to start, and we can work through the rest together.
A Mississauga team that works across Canada and the US
Our office is in Mississauga and we work in Eastern Time, which suits businesses across the GTA, including Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington and Toronto. We also serve businesses elsewhere in Canada and in the United States. Wherever you are, the first step is the same: a short conversation about your environment.
Common questions
Do you only work with Mississauga businesses?
No. We are based in Mississauga, and we serve businesses across Canada and the United States.
Do you cover virtual machines as well as physical servers?
Yes. On-premises backup and restore covers physical and virtual systems, within the scope we agree with you.
What about Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace data?
That is handled by our SaaS backup service, which is separate from on-premises backup.
What happens in a first conversation?
You tell us briefly about your environment and your current backups. We ask a few questions, and then follow up on what the next steps could look like. There is nothing to prepare beforehand.
