Azure Cloud Services

Cloud done right, at the size you need.

ExcelyTech helps small and mid-sized businesses move to Microsoft Azure, ship software on it, and keep it tidy afterwards. Hands-on engineering informed by enterprise Azure experience, scaled to your size and budget.

Azure only, on purpose. Scope, timeline, and pricing are confirmed in writing before work starts.

What we do

Five ways we help small teams get more from Azure.

Pick one, or combine them. Most engagements start with a short assessment so the next step is based on what you actually have, not a template.

01

On-premises to Azure migration

Move servers, file shares, line-of-business apps, and databases to Azure. Each workload gets the simplest approach that fits: rehost as-is, replatform onto a managed service, or rebuild when it pays off.

  • Azure Migrate
  • Virtual Machines
  • Azure SQL
  • Azure Files

02

Cloud-to-cloud app migration

Moving an application from another host or cloud into Azure, or reorganising what already runs there. We map dependencies, rebuild the infrastructure as code, move the data, and switch traffic over in a planned window.

  • Dependency mapping
  • Data move
  • DNS cutover
  • Rollback plan

03

DevOps support

Build and release pipelines, infrastructure as code, separate environments, and monitoring that a small team can understand and maintain. Fewer manual steps, fewer late-night surprises.

  • Azure DevOps
  • GitHub Actions
  • Terraform
  • Bicep
  • Azure Monitor

04

Application development

Web apps, APIs, integrations, and automation built for Azure from day one. Practical stacks, clear documentation, and code you own.

  • App Service
  • Functions
  • Storage
  • Entra ID sign-in

05

Cloud consulting

An independent second opinion before you commit: architecture review, cost review, security baseline, and a simple landing zone that will not need rebuilding in a year.

  • Architecture review
  • Cost review
  • Security baseline

Recovery built in

Backup and recovery is ExcelyTech's core work, so Azure projects are designed with a way back from day one, not as an afterthought.

How a project runs

A plain five-step path from "where are we" to "it is running".

  1. Assess

Inventory servers, apps, data, and dependencies. Find out what is worth moving and what is not.

  2. Design

Agree the target setup, a rough monthly cost range, and the order of moves.

  3. Build & migrate

Create the environment as code, then move workloads in small, tested steps.

  4. Cut over

Switch in a planned window with checks before and after, and a way to roll back.

  5. Hand over

Runbooks, a walkthrough for your team, and optional ongoing support.

DevOps without the ceremony

Every change takes the same road to production.

A small team does not need a big platform group. It needs a repeatable path: commit, build, test, deploy, and a place to see what is happening afterwards. We set that up on Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, with the infrastructure described in code so environments match.

Tooling follows what your team already uses where possible.

Built for SMB scale

Enterprise patterns, trimmed to what a small business can run.

Large-company Azure guidance is a good map, but following all of it can bury a ten- or fifty-person team. We keep the parts that protect you and leave out the overhead.

Often proposed Right-sized for SMB
Structure Many subscriptions and a deep management hierarchy One or two subscriptions, clear naming, policy where it matters
Network Hub-and-spoke by default A simple virtual network, VPN only where you need it
Cost Long commitments up front Right-size first, review usage, commit later if it makes sense
Process Heavy change boards and long documents Short runbooks your team will actually open
Support Large-scale operations contracts A dedicated point of contact, with hours and response expectations agreed in writing

Illustrative contrast of approach. Every environment is assessed on its own facts.

Ways to work together

Start small. Grow only if it helps.

Azure readiness assessment

A fixed-scope look at your servers, apps, and goals.

  • Inventory of what you run
  • Recommended target setup
  • Migration order and risks
  • Rough monthly cost range

Project

Migration or build

A scoped project with clear milestones and a defined finish.

  • Environment built as code
  • Workloads moved and tested
  • Planned cutover
  • Handover and documentation

Ongoing

Support hours

An agreed block of engineering time each month.

  • Pipeline and environment changes
  • Cost and security reviews
  • Fixes and tuning
  • Advice when you need it

Azure usage is billed separately by Microsoft or your reseller. Our fees are scoped per engagement and confirmed in writing before work begins.

Focused, by design

We take on a limited number of Azure engagements at a time.

That is how every project keeps proper attention from start to handover. It also means we will tell you early if another provider is a better match for what you need.

A good fit

  • Small and mid-sized businesses in Canada and the US
  • Moving a handful of servers or a few business apps
  • Teams without a dedicated cloud engineer
  • Companies that want a sound setup without enterprise overhead

Probably not

  • Large multi-region enterprise programmes
  • 24x7 network operations coverage
  • Clouds other than Azure

Start with a conversation

Tell us what you run today and where you want to be.

A short call is enough to say whether Azure makes sense for you and what a first step would look like. No obligation.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Azure Cloud Services

Do you only work with Azure?

Yes. Our cloud work is focused on Microsoft Azure so projects draw on deep, current experience rather than a thin spread across platforms. Moving an application from another cloud or hosting provider into Azure is in scope.

What size of business do you work with?

Small and mid-sized businesses in Canada and the United States. We take on a limited number of Azure engagements at a time so each one gets proper attention, and we will say early if another provider is a better fit.

Can you migrate us without long downtime?

Often downtime can be kept short with a staged migration and a planned cutover window, but it depends on the application and its data. The plan states the expected impact and a rollback path before anything moves. We do not promise zero downtime.

Can you work with our current IT provider or developers?

Yes. We regularly fit around an existing IT provider, internal staff, or development team, and aim to leave your people with documentation they can use.

How is Azure work priced?

Our fees are scoped per engagement and confirmed in writing before work begins: a fixed-scope assessment, a scoped migration or build project, or an agreed number of support hours per month. Azure usage itself is billed separately by Microsoft or your reseller.

Do you also protect the workloads in Azure?

Backup and recovery is ExcelyTech's core work, so Azure designs consider backup and disaster recovery from the start. What is covered, retention, and recovery objectives are defined in the service agreement.
